I'm enjoying my Pinsta experiments but I'm definitely doing something wrong at least half of the time. Some of my prints come out pretty good but some of them come out very yellow and when this happens, I know it's going to happen because when I extract the developer, it's murky or cloudy in the syringe.
I'm preparing the Ilford developer as per the instructions and I'm typically developing for 90 sec at room temp. Some of the prints are just fine from the same batch of developer, but some of them are not and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I think it's in the developer step since the cloudy developer is always a sign that it won't end well.
I'm new to using photo chemistry so I'm just trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong!

Wow, thanks so much for this. This is very helpful indeed. I'm now thinking that the heat of the day was probably breaking down the chemicals. I used some of the problematic developer and then made up a fresh batch and made two pictures with the same settings about 10 minutes apart and the fresh developer fixed it all. I need to get some additional syringes now. These are 8-min exposures with 1:9 ratio developer, 90 seconds develop, and then 60 seconds fix.
Thanks again!
